The difficulty to start a new venture is such a pervasive obstacle many of us face. I’ve started and re-started my blog as well as my YouTube channel time and time again. Every time I did, it was hard to start. There’s the perfectionist mindset where I needed the first product out to be perfect, to be absolutely masterful. Ironic, because I’m no master if I haven’t even started yet.
With this blog now, I’ve decided to consciously and deliberately do the opposite: quantity over quality.
I’ve decided to write something every single day, no matter what it is. Just write. Just publish. Once a day, everyday. I even chose a blog over YouTube because it’s easier to write a post than to produce a YouTube video for me. I decided to reject any thought that wants me to stop writing, whatever it says. Anything that comes in my way that wants me to stop writing, I will ignore it completely, no matter how sound its logic.
My advice for you is to go for quantity over quality. There’s actually so many reasons behind it. You will discover them one by one as you take your first step in your journey, then your second, and your third, and so on.
If there’s any thought that wants to prevent you from hitting the Publish button, don’t listen to it. Understand that it’s not helping you with your goals and aspirations. It wants to stop you. It gives you reasons to not take your next step. Reaching your destination is done one step at a time. It will tell you you’re going in the wrong direction. Don’t listen to it, just keep walking. You’ll learn more about the terrain and know better where to go. You won’t need a voice in your head telling you things. Just hit Publish, and see for yourself.
Start with quantity over quality. Once a master, quality will be effortless.
